Zusammenfassung

Das Laserstrahlschweißen von Elektrodenstapeln für die interne Kontaktierung von Batteriezellen ist herausfordernd. Die geringe Dicke der Stromkollektorfolien und die hohe Wärmeausdehnung von Aluminium führen während des Prozesses zum Aufwölben und Ablösen der Folien. Der Einsatz von Nanosekunden-Laserpulsen ermöglicht das wärmearme Fügen von Aluminiumfolien mit dem Ableiter-Tab. Durch sequenzielles Schweißen einzelner Nahtabschnitte wurde das Aufwölben der Folien reduziert und es wurden homogenere Nahteigenschaften erzielt.

Laser beam welding of electrode stacks for internal contacting of battery cells is challenging. The low thickness of current collector foils and the high thermal expansion of aluminum cause the foils to bulge and detach during the process. The use of nanosecond laser pulses enables to join the aluminum foils to the arrester tab with low heat input. Sequential welding of individual seam sections reduces the distortion of the foils and allows for more homogeneous seam properties.
